I would live in the UK in renaissance times, or America in the late 1800's.

It Happened...

She died.
She was just 14. Just turned 14.
I can't even cry. I feel horrible for not doing so.
My cousin, Elizabeth, or Libby as we called her, had a brain tumor. It was cancerous. It attacked her. It won. It won the battle, but she won the war. She fought so hard, I felt like she beat it anyway. She was such a happy kid. Didn't let it get her down. She always acted like there was nothing wrong, even when she had next to no muscle mass, even when she was on an electric scooter. We always joked that we would hook up jetpacks to that scooter so she could zoom around. She came up with silly nicknames for temporary tattoos, and loved her dogs, sister, and mother to the moon and back. She would put others before herself, even when she was the only one in need. She was so thin. But there was always substance enough to that smile, the smile that could light up a room. The smile she had when she met her idol, Selena Gomez. That smile she had when she was with family and friends. It was beautiful, and she was beautiful.
My brother was hit hard. He was screaming in agony. They were close. The sound of my brother's pain broke me. It was the sound I made when my mother died. True pain. I'm worried for him, because he has been feeling suicidal lately. This might put him over the edge.
Rest in peace, my little Tinkerbell Libby.
